Notice: Changes to ACH Education Payments from the Department of Veterans Affairs

Effective January 15, 2019, the Department of the Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service will begin processing Education payments from the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) using a new Company Entry Description. The VA is beginning a phased consolidation of all Education type payments.

The January 15, 2019, changes will result in new values in the information included in certain fields within the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Company/Batch Header (“5”) record for some payments.
