FedForward®, FedReturn® and FedReceipt® belong to a suite of Check 21-Enabled Services that offers your financial institution the capability to send and receive image cash letters (ICLs) electronically.
FedForward Services
FedForward Services allow you to deposit image cash letters of forward collection items, with many deposit options available to help meet your needs for availability and pricing. The Federal Reserve Banks will clear and present the items electronically or as substitute checks to the paying bank.
FedReturn
FedReturn Services allow you to deposit mixed image cash letters of return items. The Federal Reserve Banks will deliver either an electronic x9.37 data file, a PDF file or substitute checks to the bank of first deposit (BOFD).
FedReceipt Plus and FedReceipt Plus for Returns
FedReceipt Plus and FedReceipt Plus for Returns services allow you to use “straight-through” electronic check processing for all of your inclearings or inbound returns.
