The Ops Stop provides your organization with a one-stop shop full of helpful operational resources offered by the Federal Reserve Banks. This month’s installment highlights the importance of complying with the latest hardware and software requirements for your FedLine® Solution.

FedLine Solutions provide organizations with direct access to critical payment and information services and applications. As part of the Federal Reserve Banks’ commitment to security and resiliency, we strive to take advantage of the latest technologies available and upgrade components of our infrastructure on a regular basis. To help ensure your organization is able to properly utilize all features and services of FedLine Solutions, your organization must comply with the minimum hardware and software requirements.

Where can I find the latest FedLine hardware and software requirements?

The FedLine Web® and FedLine Advantage® hardware and software requirements are available on FRBservices.orgSM. FedLine Direct® and FedLine Command® hardware and software requirements are included in the FedLine® Security and Implementation Guides. Please call the Customer Contact Center (CCC) at (888) 881-6700 if you need a current version of these guides.

What hardware and software requirements do I have to follow to use FedLine Solutions?

Please refer to the question above to review the full list of hardware and software requirements for your FedLine Solution. A few key requirements for FedLine Web and FedLine Advantage are:

  • Any personal computer (PC) used to access a FedLine Solution must meet the hardware requirements established by Microsoft® for the selected operating system.
  • Microsoft Windows® 10 is strongly recommended. Support is also provided for Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer® 11 is required for accessing both FedLine Web and FedLine Advantage.
    • Ensure that Enterprise Mode in Internet Explorer 11 is not enabled.
    • Certain services may require the use of Compatibility View in Internet Explorer 11 in order for some pages to display properly.

What will happen if I do not comply with FedLine hardware and software requirements?

Even if neglecting to comply with these requirements has not disrupted your FedLine access in the past, future FedLine infrastructure upgrades will require compliance. If you do not comply, you may not be able to access critical payment and information services and applications through FedLine Solutions in the future.

Action Item:

Review the latest hardware and software requirements and work with your IT staff to ensure compliance. If your organization is already in compliance, we thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have questions, please contact the CCC.
