Learn more: Improved Check Adjustments Services Functionality

August 21, 2019

As previously communicated, in late 2019 the Federal Reserve Banks will introduce new and improved functionality to their Check Adjustments Services. In addition to providing an updated user interface, the following updates will be available to improve customers’ experiences:

  • The ability to create an adjustment case on FedLine Web® and FedLine Advantage® and attach supporting documentation at the time of case creation, thus eliminating the need to fax the supporting documentation.
  • The ability to upload and download a JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) formatted file directly to or from FedLine® with both adjustment messages and supporting attachments. The text (TXT) formatted files will continue to be accepted.
  • The ability to create a Check Adjustment (CA) message using dynamic screens that show only the required and optional fields for the investigation type (ITYP) of the message being created.
  • Advanced search capability for reviewing and processing adjustment cases.

These changes were made to help simplify and streamline the process for submitting adjustments requests. All current functionality will continue to be available; however, screens will have a new look and additional functionality. A complete summary of changes document is available to all Check Adjustment Subscribers via an email sent on August 21, 2019.

Training:

A self-directed training document will provide you with details about the changes to the Check Adjustments Service and how to use the new functionality. The training document is currently available to all Check Adjustment subscribers via an email sent on August 21, 2019 and will be made available September 15, 2019 in the FedLine Training site within the Check section.

Attend our free webinar

Registration (Off-site) is now open for a free, 90-minute training webinar to help your financial institution understand the changes in the new Check Adjustments Services. This live webinar covers similar content as the self-directed training document above, but allows you the opportunity to ask questions.

View and Practice:

The FedLine test environment will be available for your institution to view and practice the changes to the Check Adjustments service beginning September 9, 2019. Subscribers will receive an alert within FedLine with specific instructions on how to access the test environment. Any user who has access to the Check Adjustments production environment will have access to the test environment. Customers can view all aspects of the system including testing the upload or download of TXT or JSON files.
