Please note: The Federal Reserve Banks funds transfer business day begins at 9:00 p.m. ET on the preceding calendar day and ends at 6:30 p.m. ET regardless of the Reserve Bank’s geographic location or time zone. For example, on a Sunday, the Fedwire Funds Service will open at 9:00 p.m. ET with a cycle date of Monday, although transfers sent from 9:00 p.m. to midnight ET on Sunday will settle in real time on Sunday.

1The Reserve Banks observe the following standard holidays: All Saturdays, All Sundays, New Year’s Day (January 1), Martin Luther King’s Birthday (third Monday in January), Presidents’ Day (third Monday in February), Memorial Day (last Monday in May), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (first Monday in September), Columbus Day (second Monday in October), Veterans’ Day (November 11), Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November), and Christmas Day (December 25). If January 1, July 4, November 11, or December 25 fall on a Sunday, the next following Monday is a standard Reserve Bank holiday. For the Fedwire Funds Service, when a non-holiday (for example, a non-holiday Monday) follows a standard holiday (for example, Sunday), the funds transfer business day begins at 9:00 p.m. ET on the holiday (the Sunday).
